Children's Dentistry

As children grow, so do their teeth.  It's important to become teammates with your child.  They're going to need your help for some time, but we still want to empower them to take care of their teeth and teach them how to do it properly. 

Things we'll monitor throughout childhood:

• Diet and nutritional choices
  
• Adequacy of brushing and flossing, with a grown-up's help, of course
  
• Protecting teeth during sports
  
• Spacing and alignment of teeth, and need for orthodontics
  
• What to do during a dental emergency of an adult or baby tooth
  
• Habits like thumb sucking or finger sucking
  
• Need for sealants on adult molars

Teen Dentistry

Teenagers face their own challenges.  There are a myriad of choices teens face in today's day and age.  We will educate your teen on how those choices affect their oral health and overall health.

• Making smart beverage and food choices
  
• Brushing and flossing: how and how often
  
• Discussing challenging habits like smoking and caffeine / sugar addiction, eating disorders and drug abuse
  
• Protecting your teeth during sports
  
• Piercings of the lips or tongue
  
• Developing wisdom teeth and what to do about them
  
• Orthodontics: is it time for braces?
